Walking
If you enjoy relaxing walks, you will be
delighted. Walkers can choose a variety of routes around the island
on Bute's own 'West Island Way'. Walk the beach at Scalpsie Bay
visit the view point above it and observe the seal colonies.
The 300 acres of designed landscape and 18th century
woodland at Mount Stuart are especially delightful when the many and
varied varieties of rhododendrons and azaleas fill the air with
fragrance in the late spring.
Walk the Kingarth trail
encompassing a standing stone, the Iron Age fort at Dunagoil and St
Blane's Chapel, parts of which may date from 1300 years ago.
