Flat coastal roads and light traffic on Bute make for enjoyable cycling. Pleasurable short runs from Balmory are to:

Mount Stuart (2 miles)

Ardbeg (4.5 miles)

Etterick Bay (8 miles)

Kilmichael (10 miles)

Rhubodach (12 miles)

Kingarth (5 miles)

Also all roads do return (eventually) to Balmory and it is possible to choose scenic circular routes of 10, 15 and 22 miles.
